These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Family Thread website, communications, Mira, and related Family Thread services made available directly to users by MV Learning, LLC ("MV Learning," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the website, communicating with Mira, participating in Family Thread services, or otherwise interacting with Family Thread, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use Family Thread.
Certain customer organizations, including school districts, hospitals, government agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations, may also be subject to separate written agreements governing their use of the Family Thread platform. Where such agreements exist, those agreements will control with respect to the customer organization's use of the platform.
This website and Family Thread services are operated by MV Learning, LLC.
Family Thread™ and Mira™ are trademarks of MV Learning, LLC.
References to "Family Thread" include our website, communications services, resource navigation services, continuity-of-care services, artificial intelligence systems, and related offerings.
You may use Family Thread to learn about available services, request information, communicate with Mira, access resources, and receive support.
You agree not to:
The website, Family Thread services, Mira, software, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, service marks, content, designs, and related materials are owned by MV Learning or its licensors and are protected by United States and international intellectual property laws.
You may view and briefly reference publicly available content for personal, educational, or non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution.
Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, republish, create derivative works from, sell, license, or otherwise exploit any content, software, trademarks, logos, or materials without prior written permission.
When you submit information through a form, chatbot, SMS conversation, email, referral process, intake process, or other communication channel, you grant MV Learning a limited, royalty-free license to use that information for the purpose of responding to your request, providing services, facilitating referrals, coordinating support, maintaining records, and operating Family Thread.
You represent that information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal authority to provide such information.
If you choose to receive text messages from Family Thread or Mira, you agree to receive recurring SMS messages related to McKinney-Vento support, resource navigation, intake, case coordination, reminders, follow-up, and responses to your requests for assistance. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or contact support@familythread.org.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving any Family Thread service. You may receive the same support by phone or through your school district's McKinney-Vento liaison.
Family Thread may provide information, recommendations, communications, referrals, and support through automated systems, artificial intelligence technologies, and conversational assistants, including Mira.
Responses generated by Mira may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, unavailable, delayed, or inappropriate for a particular situation. Family Thread does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, or suitability of information provided through Mira or other automated systems.
Users are solely responsible for evaluating and verifying any information, recommendations, referrals, resources, or communications before relying upon them.
Family Thread may provide information regarding community resources, government programs, nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, educational services, housing providers, legal aid organizations, transportation providers, financial assistance programs, and other third-party services.
Family Thread does not own, operate, manage, endorse, guarantee, or control any third-party organization, program, resource, service, benefit, eligibility determination, funding source, waitlist, referral outcome, or service provider.
Availability, eligibility requirements, funding, policies, waitlists, and services may change without notice.
Family Thread makes no guarantee that any resource will be available, appropriate, effective, approved, funded, or accessible to a particular individual or family.
Users should independently verify information before relying on it.
Information provided through Family Thread, Mira, this website, text messages, emails, communications, or referrals is provided for general informational purposes only.
Family Thread does not provide legal advice, medical advice, mental health advice, educational advice, financial advice, tax advice, or other professional services.
Nothing provided through Family Thread creates a professional-client, attorney-client, physician-patient, therapist-patient, fiduciary, or similar professional relationship.

Family Thread and Mira are not emergency services and are not intended for use during emergencies, crises, medical emergencies, mental health emergencies, child safety emergencies, domestic violence situations, or situations involving immediate risk of harm.
If you believe someone is in danger or requires immediate assistance, call 911 or contact the appropriate emergency service provider immediately.
Please do not submit protected health information (PHI), FERPA-protected education records, Social Security numbers, medical records, financial account information, or other highly sensitive personal information through public website forms unless specifically instructed to do so through a secure channel.
If information relating to specific cases must be exchanged, Family Thread may direct users to an appropriate secure process.
Family Thread may contain links to third-party websites, applications, resources, or services.
These third parties are not controlled by MV Learning. We are not responsible for their content, practices, privacy policies, security, availability, or actions.
Accessing third-party resources is done at your own risk.
Family Thread does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of its website, platform, communications systems, SMS services, artificial intelligence systems, integrations, or related services.
Services may be modified, suspended, restricted, interrupted, or discontinued at any time without notice.
FAMILY THREAD, MIRA, THE WEBSITE, COMMUNICATIONS, SERVICES, CONTENT, AND ALL RELATED MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MV LEARNING DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, RELIABILITY, OR SECURITY.
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT SERVICES WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SECURE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL MV LEARNING BE LIABLE FOR ANY DECISIONS, ACTIONS, OMISSIONS, INJURIES, LOSSES, DELAYS, DENIAL OF BENEFITS, DENIAL OF SERVICES, HOUSING OUTCOMES, HEALTHCARE OUTCOMES, EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES, EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES, RESOURCE REFERRAL OUTCOMES, OR OTHER CONSEQUENCES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH FAMILY THREAD, MIRA, OR RELATED SERVICES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MV LEARNING'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO FAMILY THREAD, MIRA, THE WEBSITE, OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MV Learning, its affiliates, owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, judgments, settlements, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from:

When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of Family Thread after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising from or relating to Family Thread, Mira, these Terms, or related services shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Kent County, Michigan.
You consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
