Families in their daily lives

The thread that

doesn’t break.

Schools don’t talk to hospitals. Hospitals don’t talk to housing. Families end up holding it all together — until they can’t. Family Thread is the continuity layer that finally connects the systems, held together by Mira, the AI companion who remembers every family.

What Family Thread is

One family. One thread. Every system.

Today, families in crisis tell their story six different times to six different intake forms. Schools don’t talk to hospitals. Hospitals don’t talk to housing. Housing doesn’t talk to the food bank. The family carries the weight of holding it all together — until they can’t.

Family Thread is the layer that quietly stitches those systems together. With family consent, Mira holds the family’s context once and shares it with the school liaison, the hospital social worker, the community advocate, and the family themselves. Everyone sees the same picture. Nothing has to be retold.

For families

Someone who remembers

Text Mira once, in any language. Help comes — and keeps coming.

For staff

Hours back, every week

Liaisons, social workers, and advocates spend less time on intake and more time with families.

For systems

Continuity at scale

Schools, hospitals, and community partners share one consented family record.

Why we built it

The handoffs are where families fall.

Every part of the safety net is doing its job. The problem isn’t any one system — it’s the spaces between them. A McKinney-Vento liaison identifies a homeless student on Monday. The hospital sees the same family in the ED on Friday and has no idea. A community action agency tries to help on Saturday and starts from zero. The family does what families do: they keep telling the story until they’re too tired to keep telling it.

“The thread doesn’t break” isn’t a slogan. It’s a promise that the family’s context follows them — through every door, every transition, every system that’s supposed to help.

Who we are

Built by the company that already lives in this work.

MV Learning is a nationally recognized, best-in-class ed-tech company serving over 3,500 school districts across the country.

We’ve worked side by side with McKinney-Vento Liaisons on a daily basis for years. We’ve sat in the cluttered offices, watched the late-night documentation, and listened to the families calling at 9 PM. We understand the pain points because we live next to them — and we’ve made a long-term commitment to making a measurable impact in this space.

Family Thread is what happens when an ed-tech company that already knows the work decides to fix the connective tissue.
